This artifact represents my involvement with our students' parents at our 2007-2008 open house.  Our department worked in collaboration with the ESOL bilingual counselor and the media specialists to help parents of our ESOL students to access the students' Edline accounts.  During this meeting, I was able to use my Spanish fluency to communicate with the parents about how to sign up on Edline and the importance of monitoring their child's grades.

This agenda is from a session of ESOL 4 Curriculum writing from June 2008.  This artifact represents my belief in the importance of becoming involved developing in materials that we teach in the classroom.  In this way, I become a more reflective teacher and can collaborate with other professional educators in developing a cirriculum that is both engaging and rigorous for our students.

Brochure - Take a look at the other side.

This is a brochure I developed for the ESOL department.  Prior to Parents' Night, we were discussing creating a comprehensive handout that would present a brief overview of the programs as well as provide contact information on key administrative people at the school  This brochure was distributed to all the parents and students this evening and for many weeks following.  The format has served as a model for additional follow-up material from the ESOL department.
