This artifact is a copy of the Washington Area Teachers of English to Speakers
of Other Languages (WATESOL). The photo is from a workshop I coordinated, along with a professional colleague, as a
board member of this professional organization. The workshop focused on the technology resources that are available to educators
of English language learners.

This handout is the result of a collaborative effort
with the media specialist. This first worksheet was given to the students to pre-assess their level of comfort
with using computers prior to beginning our web portfolio projects. I began the utilizing web portfolios this
year after recognizing the need to provide students with the opportunity to reflect on their own writing in a format that is accessiblae
and engaging for our students. This process was also initiated to give students access to the skills
they need to be successful in the technology-based 21st century.

This artifact is a few pages from a final project in my ESOL methods class
completed with a fellow classmate, Heather Buck. We worked on a creative and informative presentation of the information
we acquired, accumulated and absorbed over the course of five months. Modeled on the popular series of pop-culture books,
"The Worst-Case Scenarios," this presention highlights various vocabulary, cooperative learning strategies, learning strategies
and more. In this class we focused on the numerous methods used to teach ESOL, as well as developed micro-teaching lesson
plans using various methods and a creating a detailed content-area unit plan based on CALLA.
